Out of the potential summer jobs available, all art students really want to do is make more art. Of course, gallery internships and management positions are ideal in different ways- if one is looking to network or gain experience. But for a few days of sunshine and inexpensive books of watercolour paper, I can sit outside in downtown Vancouver and paint.
My goal this summer is to paint at least an hour a day. With my new busking permit from the City of Vancouver I will be able to do this. I specified on my permit to have musical accompaniment, guitar or digeridoo, in hopes of having friends join me on a few days, or in case another artist friend wanted to spend the day en plein air.
I also borrowed my brother’s scanner; so my art posts online will go up, and with a little paypal button beneath works that don’t sell the day I make them, I think this will be a win-win situation.

Oh Katana, what a LOVELY idea. I will definitely read these links. By the way you are crazy about the lack of drizzle on your frappucino–that’s like one of my favourite parts.

Okay, next Frappuchine I get I will ask for the drizzle on the side, just for you haha.
Can’t wait to see you out this summer! I am so excited about this.
