Firefly & Serenity
Joss Wheedon writes great, strong, female characters. Firefly and Serenity boast a whole cast of them: Zoe, Kaylee, Inara and of course River “the weapon.” Christina Hendricks makes an appearance in “Our Mrs. Reynolds” and she is pretty fantastic in real life and also in Mad Men.
Buffy Season 5
Not only is Buffy a slayer, but this is the season with the deadliest female villain and where Willow goes crazy. This isn’t a movie, but a Buffy marathon is a must!! Best Quote ever, by black-eyed Willow: “I OWE YOU PAIN.”

You can watch this movie over and over again, and then watch the extras. The excruciating pain the stunt doubles and actors all went through made this movie INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Exclamation marks are justified.
