I spent two days on the phone with Godaddy, trying to figure out how to what to do with this stuff Wordpress said I needed for this so-called “easy install”:
An access to your web server (via shell or FTP), A text editor, an FTP Client (if you need to install WordPress on a remote server), Your web browser of choice
This didn’t make a lot of sense to me. And if you purchase hosting and your domain name at Godaddy.com, you don’t need any of that.
I made this handy video, which walks you through the installation process that doesn’t require anything more than an internet connection. Click on the link to watch it now!
And that, my friends, is how Katanaville moved from Katanaville.Wordpress.com to Katanaville.com.

SOOOooo useful.
Scott’s been using Wordpress for his website, and it’s fantastic to use once it’s set up.
All the website talk around me has gotten me looking back at HTML and learning more about its love affair with CSS… I’m starting to feel quite proficient at all this webliness.
PS…. Does this mean you’re a GoDaddy girl now?

LOL yes, I’m a godaddy girl.
It is really important to know how the stuff behind it works. I would like to learn CSS but it’s not a priority- right now I’m working on improving my traffic stats, which are on a good day about 50 page views. I just created a website for my mom at joanibarnett.com so as I start helping more people I will definitely learn more.
