Discouragement and Encouragement: The Strange Cycle of the Universe

Welcome back, I always enjoy your presence here. There's lots of stuff on the internet, so I'm pleased to see you back! I appreciate you :D

The Two Directions of Janus

There are some people who just always know everything will work out. These people who think rose-coloured glasses are unnecessary because isn’t that just the way the world looks without any glasses at all? They are optimists, pollyannas… and very often entrepreneurs.

And there are some people who just have an awesome thing they just won’t show anybody, because who’d be interested in it anyways, and someone else can totally do it better, for cheaper and cleaner and faster. Who won’t quit their job without another one lined up, who often complain or turn into brats at the moment something doesn’t suit.Worried about the past or the future.

And often these can be the same people moment to moment, so what’s going on there?

I really believe everything always works out, that the universe really just wants the best for us at the end of the day.

But damn.

It doesn’t always feel like that.

Things that I want:

I could use my future handy art-business-assistant-partner-friend last month, or last year. I wonder if there’s not space for them in my life yet or if my art or blog or vision isn’t clear or good enough yet for them to know its the perfect thing yet.

I could also stand for more people to click on the little helpful banners of goodness in the sidebar about Art & Money and Discovering the Social Web and Ninja-Travelling because sometimes I think the best part of my blog is pointing out the other people I think are awesome and the writer of these things, Chris Guillebeau, is provider of a huge number of awesome resources.

So anyways, I have been feeling slightly discouraged lately.

And then I came home from a long long day today and found a batch of new comments on my post about Elizabeth Gilbert’s inspiring talk on creativity and it seemed that the people who see my little village in the huge vast internet like what I’m doing. So I will actually renew my domain name this summer.

And now my day doesn’t seem quite so exhausting, because now I have the energy for a whole, real blog post.

Funny how that works. The universe and how it delivers what is needed when there’s a space or a vacuum for it. And how it always seems to be last-minute timing.

T Harv Eker says

Right after you throw your pebble, someone else also tosses a pebble in the same lake, and now the ripples from that pebble collide with the ripples from yours. That’s how everything in this universe works.

People Worth Colliding With:

I just want to say how delightful it is when these ripples collide, the presence of people like Robert Clark, Val Wilcox, Edward, Paul Klaszus, Carolyn, Nelson, Beverly Monical, Debby Beachy, Sara Marie, LoriTisot or Sally,  colliding with my ripples, suddenly raises my energy just when I need it. Thanks for the encouragement everybody!!

And this would only happen because I allowed myself to make a ripple!

Funny how that works.

    Hi Katana,
Your post shared much of yourself. It is nice to see those you feel comfortable really sharing themselves.
We all have are ups and downs but as long as we realize that the universe is always on our side, we can come back to feelings of encouragement.
Have you seen The Secret movie or read the book by Rhonda Byrne? We’re guessing you will really like it.
Thanks for the encouragement that you have spread!

Oh I haven’t read the Secret but am familiar with the Law of Attraction through Esther Hicks and T. Harv Eker. Very good stuff indeed.

      Thank you so much!

Hi Katana~ I am so happy to have found my way to your blog! I love your writing style, your passion and energy and your vision. And wow can I relate. I am an eternal optimist, and at the same time, it’s hard not to feel down and out when the vision gets blurred by some unforseen event, but that is just part of it all. It is how we handle the challenges and obstacles that really defines our success….do we learn, grow and propel us forward, or do we let them stop us in our tracks or even worse, bury our dreams? So glad to hear that you’re keepin’ on! :)

Funny how I ended up on your blog and how the subject matters resonates with it all. To make a long story short a friend sent me a message saying one of her friends who is an artist needs help with marketing so she hooked us up. I really encouraged her to start a blog instead of a web-site and told her I would try and find an art blogger in my tribe. So Edward sent me your link. I sent her your link. See how all the ripples work together. The Tribe syndication is amazing. Glad that our ripples could collide. It reminds of a part of a poem I wrote for a friend of mine for her 80th birthday:

    “We are but the ripples
In your sea of things said
And I extend my circle of gratitude
    Into your sleepy universe”
