Some logical logic:
Artists are creative.
Impossible things need creative solutions.
I want to go snowboarding in Argentina this summer.
How can I make this happen? Going to need some creativity!

Watchmen Revealed- I had some notes but I can’t find them. Also, they are in doodle-format. And then they only make sense to me. For example, here is a page of notes from Contemporary Feminisms class. I had been drawing, and my friend wrote me a note on the tiny green scrap of paper “No Drawing.” My reply is just above what he said. “These are notes.”
He turned around and didn’t talk to me again. I thought he was mad. Turned out he was laughing too hard.
So instead you get a quick summary of Watchmen Revealed. Basically, scenes like “Blake’s Demise” were broken down into layers. It was really fascinating, even though animation isn’t really my industry. Also, a lot of people were dropping off resumes and the appetizers were pretty delicious. …wish I had my notes. Apologies.
A place to go for inspiration, AND a bit of credibility. And after getting inspired, may I recommend following @minervity on Twitter- lots of good resources.
I had this great conversation last night with another native artist and we chatted about Rebecca Belmore, Brian Jungen, and Paul Yuxweluptan. I was joking about stalking Jungen- that is, I’ve googled him, been to his exhibits at the VAG, and looked up his number in a phone book. His assistant is very friendly and warm. However, he was in Europe at the time. These three artists are some of my favorites- I really admire them. I met Rebecca Belmore at an artist talk and I cried- the work she does is just so important and moving.

Visual notes are actually suggested as a learning strategy in high school curriculums now. We learned about them in my “how to teach English” class.
You should see Scotty’s notes from classes on Dante’s Inferno. crrrazy! (and awesome. crazyawesome.)
